It was as if there were no names here, as if there were no words. The desert washed everything in its wind, erased everything. The men had the freedom of space in their eyes, their skin like metal. The sunlight was shining everywhere. The ochre, yellow, grey, white sand, the light sand was sliding, showing the wind.

The Wadi Rum Protected Area is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site both as a natural and a cultural site.
Wadi Rum is famous worldwide for its sandstone mountains and valleys, natural arches and narrow gorges, spectacular cliffs and caves, shaped by climate and erosion for thousands of years.
In addition to being a true gem of nature, Wadi Rum is a witness to 12,000 years of human occupation.
Wadi Rum has 25,000 petroglyphs and 20,000 inscriptions engraved on its rocks, covering all periods of time from the Neolithic to the Nabatean, illustrating the evolution of human activity, with mostly pastoral and agricultural scenes.
Wadi Rum is a must-see destination in Jordan and will be the highlight of your trip!
However, the Wadi Rum Protected Area is in danger, as UNESCO has warned of the many threats to the preservation of the site, and among them, the impacts of tourism.
Indeed, despite the creation of a Protected Area for the Wadi Rum in 1997, the construction of hotels and camps to accommodate the ever-increasing number of tourists threatens to destroy this heritage.
It would be a shame if the tourists who came to discover the desert ended up destroying it!
Our goal is to make you enjoy Wadi Rum in an eco-responsible way in order to preserve this magnificent nature, privileged witness of centuries of human life.
